Across all EVs: Geotab (about 22,700 EVs, 21 models; press release Jan 13 2026; blog Apr 28 2026): average battery degradation is 2.3% a year, up from 1.8% in Geotab's earlier study (Geotab's page dates that study 2023 in one place and 2024 in another). Cars that DC fast charge on under 12% of sessions lose 1.5% a year; over 12% lose 2.5% a year. Hot-climate cars lose about 0.4% a year more than mild-climate cars.
Hyundai USA's 'America's Best Warranty' page lists the Hybrid/Electric Battery at 10 years/100,000 miles for the original owner and 10 years/100,000 miles for a subsequent owner, with capacity kept at no less than 70%. The ICCU extension (TSB 26-EV-004H) also explicitly covers subsequent owners. Only the Powertrain warranty drops to 5 years/60,000 miles for later owners. Still confirm remaining coverage by VIN.

| 24V204 / 24V868 | Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) may be damaged and stop charging the 12-volt battery, causing loss of drive power | 2022-2024 Ioniq 5 (also Ioniq 6, Genesis GV60, electrified GV70 and G80) | 24V868 (Nov 2024) expands and replaces 24V204 (Mar 2024). Dealers inspect and replace the ICCU and fuse as necessary and update software, free. Cars fixed under 24V204 need the new remedy. Hyundai's dealer notice: an internal MOSFET can fail and open the ICCU fuse; the car enters a fail-safe mode that gradually reduces power. |
