The Model Y is the best-selling EV in America, and honestly it's not hard to see why. It's a compact SUV with solid range, Tesla's Supercharger network, a massive hatchback cargo area, and available seven-seat configuration. The Long Range AWD does 0-60 in 4.8 seconds, and the Performance trim rips it in 3.3. It tows up to 3,500 lbs, which covers small trailers and boats. It does everything well enough that it's become the default recommendation for "what EV should I buy?" The optional third row is tight for adults but works for kids. Is it exciting? Not really. Does it just work? Yeah. That's the whole pitch.
