EV incentives in Wyoming

Verified July 2026

Still zero purchase incentives — but 2026 brought real relief: the annual EV decal was HALVED to $100 and the kWh charging tax was pulled back to DC fast chargers only.

The $7,500 federal new-EV credit and $4,000 used-EV credit ended September 30, 2025 — and the federal home-charger credit (30C) followed on June 30, 2026. If anyone tells you otherwise, they're reading an old script. (Charger installed on or before June 30, 2026? That one's still claimable on that year's return — IRS Form 8911.)

What WY offers on the purchase

No state-level purchase incentive right now — the money in Wyoming, if any, is at the utility level.

The catch: Wyoming charges EV owners an extra $100/yr at registration.

Cut from $200 by the 2026 legislature, which also exempted Level 2 chargers from the 3.5¢/kWh charging tax (now DCFC-only). Some databases still show the stale $200.
