Verified July 2026
Rebates now exist ONLY for low/moderate-income buyers — but they're big (up to $8,000), and there's no EV fee. Get income-verified BEFORE you buy.
The $7,500 federal new-EV credit and $4,000 used-EV credit ended September 30, 2025 — and the federal home-charger credit (30C) followed on June 30, 2026. If anyone tells you otherwise, they're reading an old script. (Charger installed on or before June 30, 2026? That one's still claimable on that year's return — IRS Form 8911.)
Low-income tier. Amounts include a $1,000 bonus that expires Sept 30, 2026. BEVs only (no PHEVs). Income verification required BEFORE purchase + an internet-connected off-peak charger installed within 90 days.
AGI under $70k single / $100k joint. Same rules as above. The old standard (no-income-test) rebates are discontinued.
The charger requirement is bundled into the rebate — the program effectively pays for your home charging setup.
