Colorado credit: $750 in 2026 (+$2,500 under $35k), $2,000 in 2027 for EVs up to $50k. Income-qualified? VXC pays $9,000 new, $6,000 used with a trade-in.
The $7,500 federal new-EV credit and $4,000 used-EV credit ended September 30, 2025, and the federal home-charger credit (30C) followed on June 30, 2026. If anyone tells you otherwise, they're reading an old script. (Charger installed on or before June 30, 2026? That one's still claimable on that year's return. IRS Form 8911.)
New EV/PHEV bought or leased in 2026 (leases 2+ years), MSRP up to $80k, no income cap. It was $3,500 in 2025. It rises to $2,000 for 2027 purchases with MSRP up to $50k (HB26-1289).
Extra credit for a new EV with MSRP under $35,000 (under $40,000 starting in 2027), stacks with the above for $3,250 total in 2026.

No EV purchase rebate (not among Xcel's current rebates). What remains: Charger and Wiring Rebate up to $500 (up to $800 in Disproportionately Impacted Communities, up to $2,300 income-qualified), first-come; requires Optimize Your Charge enrollment, which also pays a $50/yr bill credit.
Up to $500 residential Level 2 charger installation rebate (up to $1,300 income-qualified), for 2026 installs with applications in by Dec 31, 2026. Requires the Time-of-Day rate or enrolling in EVolved Charging, which pays up to $10/month for off-peak charging plus a $25 sign-up credit.
Up to $2,500 back after purchase on a new or used EV or PHEV priced up to $50,000, for income-qualified Colorado electric customers (LEAP, CARE, SNAP and similar). 2026 purchases, apply by Dec 31, 2026; first-come; stacks with other incentives.

The fee is a $63.05 EV registration fee + a $26 road usage fee (July 2026 to June 2027) that rises to $36 in July 2027 and $96 by July 2031. Plug-in hybrids pay a smaller road usage fee ($13 now). And note: Colorado has NO used-EV credit, used buyers get $0 unless they income-qualify for VXC ($6,000) or Black Hills Energy's income-qualified rebate (up to $2,500).
