The R2 is the Rivian that most people will actually be able to afford, and it's one of the most important EVs on the road right now. The Performance Edition starts around $48,500, with the $45,000 Standard trim arriving in 2027. It takes the adventure-ready DNA of the R1S and packs it into a smaller, more affordable crossover SUV. EPA-confirmed specs: 310-345 miles of range depending on tires, DC fast charging at 217 kW (10-80% in about 29 minutes), and 4,400 lbs of towing with the tow package. It runs on 400V architecture -- not 800V like some competitors, but the charging speed is solid. Rivian builds these at their factory in Georgia, and demand has been through the roof.
